Mackenzie Helicopters offers a range of commercial and agricultural helicopter services. Photography & Filming
The Mackenzie Helicopters team works with the commercial aerial filming and photography sector on production projects small and large.

We’ve worked with a wide variety of photographers on diverse projects in remote locations. Our experienced pilots understand how to work closely with professional photographers and videographers to capture extraordinary images efficiently in the challenging terrain of the South Island’s mountains.

We are experienced working with both handheld camera operators and the latest high-performance helicopter-attached or mounted camera systems.
Aerial Lifting
Lifting and placement of cargo is an integral part of our service due to the often remote and challenging terrain of our region, making ground access to these areas difficult. Helicopters are an efficient substitute to cranes where vehicle access is limited, allowing for rapid transport of cargo.

We are an approved operator for emergency firefighting and fire control.

Located in the heart of the Mackenzie District, with its dry tussock landscape, Mackenzie Helicopters is an approved operator under Fire and Emergency New Zealand. We are at the ready for rapid response to any fire emergency.

Our modern helicopters and equipment can also be on standby as a precaution during a controlled burn off, in the event circumstances don’t go to plan.
